The Canadian Clinical Drug Data Set (CCDD) -- the pan-Canadian terminology for identifying and naming medications and some medical devices, designed to reflect current clinical practice and safety advice.
It codes drugs at the INGREDIENT level, which is the level at which every cross-record question is
actually asked: same-drug detection, duplicate therapy, and matching a medication against a recorded
allergy. This specification prefers it over ATC where a source has it, and prefers either over a
DIN, which identifies a marketed product rather than a drug. Pinned on the ccdd slice of
MedicationRequest, MedicationStatement, MedicationDispense and AllergyIntolerance.
Published by Health Canada; the FHIR representation is developed and served by Canada Health Infoway, which also takes content-change requests (clinicaldrug@infoway-inforoute.ca). CCDD is freely available for use in digital health solutions, in English and Canadian French; no licence fee gates it. The FHIR representation is browsable through Infoway's terminology service at https://terminologystandardsservice.ca/fhir.

for backward compatibility; this specification pins the THO form, which is the one THO records as
official going forward.
The set enumerates no codes of its own. It includes the whole system, so it means every code in it, and it exists so the system URI resolves to a definition rather than to nothing. The definition itself stays with the publisher at the canonical above: this specification does not redefine the system and does not restrict it. Where this page shows a list of codes, that list is a SAMPLE reproduced under the publisher's own terms and is not the set's content -- the page says how many of how many it is showing.
